News from the front....or  "Einstein Rambles on, and on, and on...."

Greetings, Lodgers (or is that Lodgelings?   Maybe Lodgeites!  or perhaps Lodgesters.....)

Anyway..............

As you may (or may not) have heard, CMGion, Inc. (the company that owns Powwow) has decided to discontinue that program as of  January 19, 2001.  (Click here for the press release from CMGion, Inc)

In light of this horrific, and traumatic news  (Yes, I have had to give CPR to Denial twice, and apply a "Trivial Pursuit - Masters Edition" compress to his forehead, the poor boy)  I have decided to run a server here.  Unfortunately, CMGion is not interested in selling the rights to the Powwow to, and I quote "Any Interested Party". (I asked, believe me, I asked!)

At this time, Hyperchat by FH Software is the program I have selected to continue our fine tradition!!   It seems the smallest to download, and the simplest to configure.

The process is simple - The rewards are many

1) Stand on your head in the corner till your vision begins to blur......This is for relaxation, and to see if anyone REALLY does it!! <giggle>

2) Download the software from our site by clicking here

3) Select  "Save File to Disk"

4) double click the saved file hyperchat.exe- It will self extract.

4) The file will be save on your desktop under "hyperchat"

5)  Open the "hyperchat" folder, and double click on the SETUP.EXE file, and follow the instructions.

6)  Be aware that HyperChat Suite requires two common Microsoft support DLL files which can be obtained here.

        Most systems will not require you to get these 2 files, but some older Windows 95 systems may.

7)  The IP address for the server is : 204.233.52.198   and the port number is 6667

Several Lodgers have already d/l the program and have set it up successfully, and I'm sure they would also be glad to offer assistance too.
