When moist Gulf Sea air meets cool Canadian air. The warm air rises, clouds form and storms start to develop.

Wind shear winds in different altitudes, blowing in different directions, causes the air between the layers to start spinning, almost like a sideways tornado.

When this meets an updraft it become stretched and tilted.
